Well,

The day that I swore would never happen finally happened on Sat. I sat down for the first time in about 5 years. I played D&D. NOT first edition or even second but fourth. And it was not too bad. It did not have the feel or heart of 1st or 2nd but it was alright. Almost like a pen, paper, and miniature version of WOW.

I can say that I will be trying to be a part of Mike's Tuesday games.

I am actually looking forward to playing again. :)

If the games are played at the Geek and are after 4ish. I think I can make it enough to try to learn more, I had fun playing on Saturday and would like to try the game for real.

Yeah, I'd pretty much sworn off D&D after 3.0, but I have to admit the new rules have me intrigued, and I feel those GM juices flowing again.

The comparison to WoW is quite apt; that's pretty much what I was thinking once they started teasing us with significant chunks of info about the game, and while I know there are some who are losing hair about it I'm feeling pretty positive about it all. I always liked running a more tactically-oriented combat anyhow, and these rules are playing right into my style there.

Just wish I'd known sooner that someone opened an FLGS practically under my nose!
