TREACHEROUS TRAP HOLE

NORMAL TRAP

TEXT: "Destroy 2 monsters on the field. You cannot activate this card if you have any Trap Cards in your Graveyard."

HARV'S REVIEW

A 1 for 2…if you can pull it off. Two big drawbacks to this card. Drawback #1 – Obviously, there must be two monsters to destroy. That amounts to destroying two of your opponent’s monsters (yummy), one of theirs and one of yours (meh…but could still be useful), or two of yours (uh, why in god's name would you do dat’!??...although there may be a reason or two). Going with the steller option of destroying two of your opponent’s monsters, this can be a great card now, for many monsters are hitting the field quick-like these days. On occasion, an opponent's Priority may beat out your activation of Treacherous Trap Hole...although in most cases you will still be able to chain it if you wish. But, there are so many other great scenario’s that will let you pop two of your opponent's monsters, especially when up against thing's like Synchro Summons (LoL), Six Samurai’s, Lightsworn’s, Zombies, Batterymen, etc…

Onto Drawback #2…and it’s a biggie…

You cannot activate this card if there is another Trap card in your Graveyard. Ouch!...but still manageable in certain decks. A RFP deck with Macro and Banisher could work. A deck with 2-3 Treacherous Trap Holes, with all other cards being Spells, and maybe a way(s) to get those Treacherous out of your Graveyard, such as with Soul Release or Diskblade Rider (Who??? LoL), could work. A deck with 2-3 Treacherous Trap Holes, and getting a spent Treacherous back to your hand with Mask of Darkness…or to the top of your deck with Aswan Apparition…could work. All Spells in a deck, with 1 Treacherous…like some Diamond Dude thingy…could work.

Yeah, this cards restrictions definitely take some working around. Worth the effort? It could be…I think. Not too many “+ anythings” out there.

So, uh, good luck with that.

Advanced Format (in the right dialed deck) – 9/10

Art – 2/10 (goofy...and I don't get it)

Synchro summoning is a game mechanic and not an effect provided by the tuner. Therefore there is no priority on declaring for a synchro summon. So when that tuner hits, pop it and the other material monster. :O

That was a horrible example...especially since it was wrong. LoL.

Your right Chester...Synchro Summon, Tribute Summon, some Special Summons (Gyzarus), are all mechanics. And, even with an opponent using Priority to activate a monsters effect, or Priority to activate a Spell or Trap after they summon (monster #2), those things all have Spell speeds that you could chain Treacherous Trap Hole to anyway if you want (unless it's a Counter Trap of course).

Glad somebody is keepin' the old man on his toes.
