High Elves and Skaven? Now there's something I didn't see coming!

I thought Chaos would make sense, given the Daemon releases coming out around the same time. But that would have been pure wishlisting.

I figured the box would have had Greenskins of one kind or another considering Orcs/Space Orks seem to always sell like hotcakes. I mean, for a while, it seemed like for the Gamesday mini, they just alternated between Orcs/Space Orks and Space Marines.

Skaven, huh? Totally blindsided me.

Well here is the contents of Island of Blood, thanks to all the rumour mongers for the information, none of it is mine, I've just collected it. Just to state it, all this info is according to five usually very reliable sources here at warseer, so it's pretty definite. And the rulebook included definitely contains the full rules, this has been validated (by someone having actually read it).

High Elves (Not sculpted by Gary Morley, the person responsible for the current ugly hands/feet in certain sets, but rather by Martin Footitt, who has done the slimmer and prettier High Elf kits)

Prince on Griffon
Mage on foot
20 Sea Guard
10 Swordmasters of Hoeth
5 Ellyrian Reavers

About 1100 points in total, assuming full command on all units, a smattering of extra equipment, Lvl 2 Mage but no magic items.

Skaven

Poisoned Wind Mortar

2 Rat Ogres with Packmaster

Wow, just... wow...

If even half of what's rumored to be in that box is true, that's pretty damn amazing. Ordinarily, I would say it's pretty far-fetched, but Warseer's track record for rumors is very very good.

Plastic Globadiers, huh? About freakin' time! They've been using the same models for those guys for almost 15 years.

I guess in the hopes of pushing the whole "MonsterHammer" aspect, that's why a Griffon is included for the goodguys and a Rat Ogres for the badguys?

Interesting Thought: Will Bloodcrushers count as "monsters" in the new rules, or will they still be "cavalry on a 50mm base"? Because 6 Bloodcrushers getting a rank bonus and attacks from the back row would make it worth fielding them. Otherwise, fielding 10 for a rank bonus and only the front rank fights would be a pain. At least the plastic ones come out in August.

I think anything with a monster base counts as a monsterous creature and gets the rules plus the stomp new rule.

Im loving 8th. played a few small games and had alot of fun. Also today was the 1850 rtt for 40k at jesters. Took second with the eldar horde. What has everyone else been doing. One Love

Falcon, 2 waves, 2warwalkers, 13 guardians, 16 storm guard with warlock, 20 dire avangers, 10 scorpins, 6 dragons, doomseer, 10 pathfinders, wraithlord. lol lots of troops. best part i only have to paint 36 more models to have that list fully painted
