DOOMCALIBER KNIGHT
EFFECT MONSTER (Fiend / DARK / Level 4 / 1900 ATK / 1800 DEF)
TEXT: "This card cannot be Special Summoned. When an Effect Monster's effect is activated, you must Tribute this card. Negate that effect's activation and destroy the monster."

HARV'S REVIEW
Why review a card that 99.9% of Yugioh players will not have? Well, there are three reasons... #1)This card may eventually become available to the masses (don't hold your breath waiting though) #2) I like reminding everybody who attends the Shonen Jump events how much they really suck. LoL. #3) I think it's freakin' cool looking.
From the get-go, Doomcaliber has a couple slight flaws. He can not be searched (well there is a couple ways like Different Dimension Capsule, and Gold Sarcophagus, but let's not add insult to injury, eh? LoL)...and he can not be Special Summoned from anywhere, although Monster Reincarnation would do nicely after hitting the Graveyard. Regardless though, his negation effect surely makes-up for his minimal shortcomings.
When any Effect Monster's effect is activated, you must tribute him to negate the effect. It doesn't matter where the monsters effect activates, so yeah, like Light & Darkness Dragon, a Treeborn Frog would suck. But, think of all the great effects he could stop. D.D. Crow, Malicious, Sangan, Breaker, Snipe, yatta-yatta... He amounts to some of the best Counter Taps rolled into one. Don't be a stupid bonehead and Summon your own Breaker while he's on your field...OR, be a smart bonehead to get him and another monster of yours into your Graveyard for DAD or whatever.
So, yes, I think he's an all around decent effect monster, with a beefy ATK and DEF. That Dark attribute sure doesn't hurt him too much either.
Yes...maybe someday. Until then, I too join the ranks of people who wouldn't mind toying with one...or two...
Dark Deck (any variety) - 8-9/10
Splashed/Side Deck - 7-8/10
Art - 8/10

CHARLIE'S REVIEW
Today we have the highly sought after, and playable SJC prize card Doomcaliber Knight. It is a Dark Monster, which gives it plenty of support like Allure of Darkness. It is a Fiend which gives it a little bit more support. It has a very high attack and defense for a 4 star. Not even Elemental Hero Stratos can take him down, which is the ideal opening for a Tele-Dad deck. It cannot be special summoned, but that isn't much of a drawback.
Its effect is really good. It can offer itself as a tribute to negate and effect and destroy the monster. It is a one for one, and it negates and effect to the boot. This card hurts so many of the top decks. It stops the opening plays like E-Hero Stratos in Tele-Dad, Dark Armed Dragon himself, Judgment Dragon, Gladiator Beasts, Monarchs, Synchros, and so much more stuff like Zombie Master. The possibilities are endless, so I will not ramble on with examples forever.
That is really good however, it cannot be splashed into every deck. It is not optional so it can hit your effect monsters as well. It is also very rare and hard to get. The ideal place to play it is Stun also known as Middle City, but even then it can conflict. It stops your Thunder King Raiou from going off and it just gave you a - 2 in that situation. It might be able to be splashed in a Tele-Dad build even, however that is a gamble at best. It is good in Gadgets, however it can stop your Gadgets which is bad. Doom Calibur Knight is a very capable and splashable card, however it is best in Anti-Meta decks and Side Decks.
If you have these, I would experiment with them and defenitily test them out. Be very careful with them though, they can most definitly hurt you as well. If you get these and they test bad I would simply sell them on Ebay.
Stun/Middle City - 8.5/10.
Side Decks - 7/10.
Other Decks splashed in - 5-8/10 depending on the deck.
Art - 9.5/10 It looks very intimidating and sharp. _________________

Doomcaliber Knight only stops activated effects, like the cards harv described, but it does not stop continuous effects ( Jinzo, Revived King Ha Des, etc.) Thunder King's, you cannot search your deck to hand, effect is continuous, but the tribute to negate a special summon is an activated effect.
Just so there is no confusion Charlie. _________________
